Travel
I haven’t traveled much yet, but as I get older and have more financial freedom, I hope to explore more places beyond Iowa and Wisconsin. So far, my top three trips have been Washington, D.C., New York City, and Punta Cana.

Washington DC
I visited Washington, D.C., during the week of July 4th, 2025, with my boyfriend, his mom, and his sister. We stayed with Charlie’s mom’s cousin in Maryland and took the bus into the city.
We went to Arlington National Cemetery and saw the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which was really moving. We also checked out a bunch of the major sights like the Washington Monument, the National Mall, the White House, the WWII Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial.
Another one of the most fun parts was renting scooters and riding around the city. We ended the day with dinner at Old Ebbitt Grill, which was super good. Overall, I was really grateful I got to go and see so many historic places all in one trip and during such a patriotic week.

New York
My trip to New York happened during the same week as my Washington, D.C., trip. One day, we took the Amtrak for about three and a half hours to visit the city. New York was chaotic, but it was also beautiful and packed with things to see. When we arrived, we found our hotel and grabbed Starbucks before getting ready for the evening, because we had tickets to see Wicked on Broadway. The show was incredible! Alphaba’s main actor was sick that night, so we got to see the understudy perform, which made the experience even more unique. After the play, we got dinner and then headed to Times Square for the night. We wandered through shops, and Charlie and his mom even got pulled into a street performance, which was super fun to watch. We ended the night with pizza in bed. It was a perfect day.

Punta Cana
Punta Cana was my first time traveling out of the country, and it was for my senior year spring break trip. I went with my best friends, my boyfriend, his friends, and all of our families. We stayed at an all-inclusive resort and got to do all my favorite things like lie on the beach, float down the lazy river, and enjoy nightly activities like a live-action Lion King show, a silent disco, and karaoke. The whole trip was laid-back, and I loved getting the chance to relax and spend time with the people I care about most.
